Feeding The Hungry Without Exploiting Animals
VEGFAM helps people overseas to feed themselves, people who are often out of reach of the major charities.
We also provide emergency feeding in times of crisis and disaster.
We fund only ethically sound plant-food projects which do not exploit animals or the environment.
All projects are carefully sourced through registered charities, NGO's and in-country
organisations.
VEGFAM is run by volunteers, and 90% of our income is spent directly on famine relief projects.
We rely totally on donations from supporters, and do not receive funding from any other source.
Since 1963, we have funded overseas famine relief projects in over 40 countries.
During 2005/2007 over £100,000 was spent on projects, benefiting over 3/4 million people in 12 countries.
We currently need funds to provide:
- 2 water wells for tree nurseries in GHANA (£1,094)
- a water pump/irrigation supplies for an orphanage in KENYA (approx. £4,000)
- seeds and tools for organic gardening projects in KENYA (up to £17,000)
- nutritional food programmes for HIV/AIDS orphans in SOUTH AFRICA (up to £20,000)
- fruit trees and vegetable growing projects for orphanages in LESOTHO and JOHANNESBURG
Please support our work. Food and water saves lives.
