Tsunami Rehabilitation Works Programme - providing nutritional food for
children, in 10 tsunami-affected villages. 250 children will each
receive a daily meal for 3 months, in 10 tuition centres in the Krishna
district of Andhra Pradesh.
Financed through the Interlock Charitable Trust (Devon, UK) working in
India with LEADS (Legal Education and Development Society).

Vegetable Production and Water Provision/Desalination Project. Finance
for: seeds, tools, Water Resources Centre and water wells.
The tsunami disaster (December 26th 2004), brought devastation to this
part of India. Some of the people in these affected areas have
not received help from any other source.
Vegetables will be grown on 4 acres of land. Seeds will be traditional, non-GMO varieties.
Sale of surplus crops will provide income for sustaining the
continuation of the project and will also provide cheap food to other
families in the districts covered.
Beneficiaries will be 10,200 people surrounding 20 Interlock Rural
Development Centres. Those attending the centres and benefiting
from the project are (nomadic) tribal people, dalits (untouchables) and
widows - all whom have been affected by the tsunami.
Tube wells and hand pumps will be installed at a Water Resource Centre,
in the longer term they will be replaced with solar powered and
wind driven pumps. The wells will provide water for consumption and
irrigation, to very remote tsunami-affected villages.
In addition to providing much needed food and water supplies, this
Vegfam project will create employment and it will be self-financing in
the longer term.

Education and Development Society) and RDT (Rural Development
Trust).

Emergency food and water provision for cyclone victims.
Tens of thousands of people lost their lives when a cyclone caused flooding in these districts. Many more are missing.
Two rescue teams travelled from Madurai, to distribute 2,000 vegan food packets and water, to survivors of the disaster.

Emergency Food Distribution - to survivors of cyclone and floods.
In excess of 10,000 people lost their homes and thousands of peoples lives were lost, when a cyclone and flooding affected Tamil Nadu State, in South India. Villages were washed away, with 150 lakes/reservoirs entering the villages.
1,000 food packets of vegetable dhall, rice and water was distributed to 1,000 families.
