Integrated Rural Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Project.
This part of Nigeria has the lowest percentage of population with access to safe water (30%). Many women and children have to travel upto 5km to access water. Most of the water is polluted and unsafe.
Vegfam funding will enable 7 broken down boreholes to be rehabilitated. This will alleviate the prevalence of water borne diseases, within the beneficiary communities - providing a safe supply of clean water.
Beneficiaries will be taught how to effectively and efficiently manage, maintain and regulate their own safe water supplies.
